Heyman Kole collaborates with Risk Trans as our trusted insurance brokers, ensuring comprehensive coverage tailored to our corporate needs. Our fleet benefits from robust protection, including comprehensive insurance cover for vehicles. Additionally, we prioritize the security of transported goods, with a substantial limit of R 800,000.00 per load for goods in transit. Moreover, our commitment to safety extends to public liability, with a generous limit of R 23,000,000.00 in coverage. With Risk Trans at our side, Heyman Kole maintains the highest standards of insurance protection, providing peace of mind for our clients and stakeholders alike.
No operators are employed with less than 5 years experience on Code EC (Code 14) vehicles. All our vehicle operators undergo an annual medical screening to ensure optimal performance and safety. All the new operators undergo a minimum of 2 weeks induction training presented by one of our senior vehicle operators in order to familiarise themselves with Heymans Kole's policies and procedures. After satisfactory completion of the induction period, operators are assigned to vehicles. All vehicle operators are monitored by the Operational Department to make ensure that they get at least 6-8 hours of rest per day.
We believe that a tired driver is a non-productive and dangerous driver!
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
Heymans Kole adheres strictly to all regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) as well as the regulations of the food policy.

Heymans Kole’s workshops are approved by all major truck and trailer manufacturers. Major services are done by the dealers and minor services are done internally at our own workshops. All our vehicles are inspected once a week at one of our workshops. Our high trained and competent technical personnel are on standby 24hours, 7days a week. In case of a technical breakdown, a road change will take place to ensure a scheduled delivery is maintained.
In the event of an accident, our Safety Department is informed immediately and they manage the incident to ensure speedy resolution by contacting the local S.A.P.D. and authorities required.
Once on the scene, photographs of the accident will be taken to construct a full report of the incident. Assessment of damages and losses will then be made
In the case of the load being spilled, the recovery of that product will be done by Heymans Kole, using our own equipment. In the case of heavy duty recovery only an Accredited Towing company will be used in ensure the safety of all involved.
Heymans Kole also has a helicopter for immediate accident response to a scene if required.
